Taft's love for sports was nurtured at an early age, having been born into a sporting family. Taft also played at different levels in school and college and decided to work as broadcaster. Taft started her career with Fox Sports North after graduating from Boston University with a degree in broadcast journalism. Alongside reporting on sports, she also was a contributor to social networks and as an interim host of many games. Then she was promoted into working for Fox Sports 1 as part of their News and Highlights team. Under FS1 Taft was a reporter for reputed championships and reported these on the ground. In addition, she worked as the sideline reporter for college football who was later elevated to the post as the lead college football reporter together with Gus Johnson. The moment she was asked in 2018 to become the moderator and host of the show Skip and Shannon Undisputed her rise to the heights of fame. Recently, she was spotted hosting her own program CFB: Inside Slant and in the role of pit reporter for the Discovery show Battlebots.
